Compass Realty Group’s Spotlight on Garrett Gorres
Here at Compass Realty Group, we are passionate about helping people navigate real estate and guiding them home. Whether buying or selling, we always put people first, because our values are based on our main goal: helping others.
One of the ways we help our clients and potential clients is to allow them to get to know our team of agents. The Compass family continues to grow! And we would like to introduce you to our newest agent, Garrett Gorres.
The New Guy On the Team
Garrett joined the Compass team just a couple of months ago. But he has dove right in to navigate real estate with dedication and a willingness to learn. And he recently had his first closing!
Garrett started his career in residential construction and worked in the industry for 15 years. Later, he moved to a career in sales and marketing for a local powersports and motorsports dealership. “I think my experience in these fields will translate very well to real estate,” Garrett said. “My background in construction gives me a unique perspective in the real estate world.”
His ability to not only handle challenges but to work with all sorts of personality types made Compass owner, Alison Blanchard, see a lot of potential in Garrett. After years of having an interest in real estate, Garrett just needed a gentle nudge from Alison to become a real estate agent and join the Compass team.
Alison says, “Garrett is a wonderful person and a fantastic addition to the Compass team. He has the skills needed to be successful in the real estate business. He understands lead follow- up, how to treat clients, marketing, and how to run a true business.”
Diving In to Get it Done
Working out of the Amery office, Garrett says his favorite aspect of joining Compass Realty Group has been the fellow agents on the team. He says, “They’ve been great since my first day. I have plenty of people to turn to when I have questions. There's a lot of combined knowledge and experience under the Compass umbrella.”
Alison knows that adding Garrett to the team that works out of the Amery Compass office was a good move both for Compass, Garrett, and his future clients. She says, “We are very lucky to have him on the Compass team. Something that our agents are very motivated by, is the ability for growth for not only themselves, but to grow and stretch in their business, as well as their personal goals and lives. We work with our agents and listen to them to see how we can work together to better our company and their businesses. I look forward to working with Garrett and giving him the opportunities for growth in all those areas and to see how far he will go.”
So far, Garrett’s favorite part of working at Compass has been the culture of the company. He also loves the freedom and flexibility being an agent affords him.
Strengths and Challenges
Garrett knows that his background in construction gives him a unique perspective in real estate. His years in sales and marketing are also proving to provide value to Compass as the company continues to grow.
Alison echoes her confidence in Garrett’s past career. “Garrett comes to us with tons of marketing and service based experience. We've already experienced how he will benefit our team with his out of the box thinking and ideas! He has ideas that he has brought to the table for marketing and business management that we've already implemented. He's involved with company events, and very involved with those in the community. He will be a power house in his area very soon.”
As for the challenges Garrett currently faces as a real estate agent he says, “Being less than two months into this career, the biggest challenge has been, and is going to be for a little while, getting potential clients to trust “the new guy” to help them with their transaction.”
But Garrett knows that being consistent with his marketing, paired with his drive to learn more every day will give him the knowledge and confidence that people have come to expect with Compass. Plus, he’s learning from some of the best agents in Western Wisconsin.
Amery Boy, Through and Through
Born, raised, and still residing in the Amery area, Garrett knows the area, people, and community well. He’s the third of four brothers in his family. All four “Gorres Boys” still live in the Amery area.
Garrett and his wife, Krista, live just a few miles south of town with their dog, Diogi. Garrett also owns a small residential remodeling company. When he’s not working his real estate business, Garrett loves the outdoors and anything with a small motor. In the spring, summer, and fall you will probably find him on his Harley or SxS. In the winter his happy place is out west, riding a snowmobile.
Compass Realty Group is very excited to have Garrett on the team. Those who work with him will not be disappointed. He would love the opportunity to help you navigate your next real estate sale or purchase. Give Garrett a call at 715-220-5544 to see how he can serve you!.
